Group Health otolaryngologists — more familiarly known as ear, nose, and throat specialists or ENTs — treat all the conditions you might expect, such as tonsillitis, sinusitis, and earache. But they're also experts in some areas you might not consider, such as plastic and skull-base surgeries, head and neck cancer procedures, and reconstructing facial fractures from trauma.
For example, we are one of the few Puget Sound-area providers that offer a cochlear implantation program for persons with severe or total hearing loss.
Our ENTs partner with other clinicians, such as speech therapists for speech and swallowing disorders, audiologists for hearing impairments, and dermatologists for skin cancers.
With our collaborative relationships and deep expertise, our patients get the best of ear, nose, and throat health.
You may self-refer to an ENT specialist, although it may be helpful to see your primary care provider to rule out common problems such as sinusitis and earache.
For information about sinusitis, see Sinus Congestion.
For children, see Fluid in the Middle Ear.
