Fatimatou Bah, MD
I was born in Guinea, West Africa. I spent most of my childhood in Oakland, California, and later lived in New York City. I’m happily married, and we have a handsome and fun-loving son. My proudest achievement is completing medical school while being a full-time parent. After completing my Master of Public Health in Epidemiology, I worked on a couple of public health research projects in sub-Saharan Africa and New York City. I worked closely with local communities and families struggling to get the high-quality care they needed. The stories of these families inspired me to practice medicine within under-resourced communities. I chose to join Kaiser Permanente because I wanted to be part of one of the most advanced health care systems in the country, and their focus on patient-centered care closely aligns with my values. I’m looking forward to gaining more experience in a health care system with bold, innovative solutions for making high-quality health care available to people from all walks of life.
