Group Health Cooperative's Medicare Advantage plans have earned a 5-Star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services for a fourth year in a row. Medicare evaluates plans based on a 5-Star rating system. Star ratings are calculated each year and may change from one year to the next.
Group Health Cooperative Medicare plans were recognized as an example of excellence at the Pharmacy Quality Alliance's (PQA) 10th annual meeting. Group Health was one of three Medicare plans that received the PQA Excellence in Quality Award, which recognizes the highest level of combined achievement in overall performance and medication-use quality.
In 2013, all Group Health Medical Centers received the highest recognition status for Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). The NCQA's PCMH recognition program is the most widely adopted medical home model in the country.
In the Washington Health Alliance's 2014 eValue8 report, Group Health scored highest out of five regional health plans. This assessment tool measures how well health plans control health care costs, ensure patient safety, and educate and encourage patients to better manage chronic conditions.
Participating Group Health Medical Center clinics have been recognized for their inclusion in the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) 2014 report for policies and practices related to LGBT patients and their families. Group Health has earned this recognition six years in a row.
Group Health Cooperative was ranked 70th out of 617 commercial health insurance plans in the country by the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) Private Health Insurance Plan Rankings, 2014-15.
Group Health received 15 "above average" rankings out of 22 measures, according to the Washington Alliance's 2014 Community Checkup Overview.
Group Health Cooperative's Medicare HMO plans were ranked 14th in the nation — among more than 600 plans — by the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) Medicare Health Insurance Plan Rankings 2014-15.
In 2013, for the 13th year in a row, Group Health received the National Committee for Quality Assurance's (NCQA) highest accreditation status of "Excellent" for its HMO commercial and Medicare plans.
The American Medical Group Association (AMGA) awarded Group Health Physicians its Acclaim Award in 2010 for physician-led innovations that have transformed care at Group Health Medical Centers.
